A small French town waits for their young school teacher, Isabel, to discover the answer to the existential question—are the world of the flesh and the world of the spirit mutually exclusive? A mysterious ghost offers to lead Isabel through the veil, but will he let her return to life? While the ultra-rational government- sent, Inspector, pushes this town and this girl toward “science and order”, the Supervisor of Weights and Measures wraps them in practical inspiration.
